Senior Professor

She took a degree in Linguistic and Literature (Portuguese/French) from PUC Campinas (1971); a master’s degree and doctorate in Literary Theory and History from UNICAMP (1987 and 2003), researching Literature in the military dictatorship and the influence of the cultural industrial in the cultural production. She was a professor of Sociology of Culture at UNESP Araraquara (1995/1997) and visiting professor at California University, Santa Barbara (2002). She earned her postdoctorate from University of Oxford (2007). She worked as visiting researcher at University of Clifornis, Riverside (1991), University of Waikato, New Zealand (2009), and at the Center of Latin American Studies of University of Oxford (January/February 2013). She completed two postdoctorates, one at University of Oxford (from October 2006 to March 2007) and the other at Brazil Institute of King’s College of London, researching the realist aesthetic in Literature and Media. Nowadays, she is a senior professor at UFSCar, working in the PPGS and PPGLit, which she was coordinator. She has experience in teaching, research and supervision in the areas of Literary Theory, Brazilian Literature and Sociology, with emphasis in Sociology of Culture and Literature, focusing on the following themes: Brazilian contemporary narratives (visual and literary) and cultural industry.
