Foreign students, living abroad, may enroll the PEC-PG, CAPES or CNPq, Scholarship Programs to researchers originating from developing countries. For more information access the web sites:

Besides meeting all the requirements of the institution that provides the scholarships, applicants have got to email (in PDF format) the following documents to ppgs@ufscar.br and also send copies of them to the Graduate Program in Sociology at the address stated bellow:

Doctorate Degree

  1. Undergraduate Certificate;

    h. Curriculum vitae;

    i. Proficiency in Portuguese held by MEC, which will award the certificate CELPE-Bras;

    j. English language test or declaration of English language school, attesting the ability to read and understand scientific texts in English. Accepted Certificates:

-TOEFEL(Test of English as a Foreign Language): 213 points in the CBT(Computer-based-Test); or 550 points in the Paper-based-Test; or 80 points in the IBT(Internet-based-Test); or equivalent;

-IELTS (International English Language Test): 6 or more points; or equivalent;

-FCE (The Cambridge Exams – First Certificate in English): Grade C; or 60 points or higher; or equivalent, ex.: Proficiency;

  1. French or German language test or declaration of French or German language school, attesting the ability to read and understand scientific texts in French or in German. Accepted Certificates:

FRENCH:
-DALF: C1 LEVEL or higher;
-CFCR: C1 LEVEL or higher;
-NANCY: LEVEL 1 or higher.

GERMAN:
-Zertifikat Deutsch für den Beruf – Goethe-Zertifikat B2 – Test Deutsch als Fremdsprache (or higher)

  1. Research project to be developed in the Doctorate Degree (Guidelines);

    m. Two recommendation letters written by two professors from the Home University attended by the student;
