He holds a PHD in Social Sciences from Unicamp, 1993, a Postdoctorate from University of Chicago in 1996, 2000 and 2006. Associate Professor IV in the Postgraduate Program in Sociology at UFSCar. He has experience and interest in the areas of Sociology of Migrations, Sociology of Organizations and Social and Regional History. He coordinated, between 2006 and 2009, the Work Group “International Migrations” of ANPOCS. He is a member of “Red de Estudios Migratorios Transatlánticos”, hosted in Madri. He has run the Federal University of São Carlos publishing house since 2000. He is also a CNPQ researcher.
